Position Description
The mission of the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences is the development of professional health care practitioners through innovation, individualized, and quality classroom, clinical, and distance education.
GENERAL SUMMARY
Content Developers research source material, write course content, design learning activities, and coordinate with University Faculty and instructional design staff to develop instructional content for blended courses in the OT Department. All Content Developers will be required to create content related to the OT Process, Foundations of the practice and OT Theory. The specific content area expertise includes specialization in one of the following topics:
- Physical Dysfunction includes occupational therapy services with young and older adults in outpatient, inpatient, and community settings. These courses will involve assessment and treatment, adaptive equipment, orthotics, modalities, assistive technologies, billing, documentation, and working alongside the treatment team.
- Psychosocial and community service includes occupational therapy services with individuals living with mental health challenges and occupational dysfunction. This individual will be familiar with community-based settings, population health, and community programming to support individuals at all ages. These courses will involve assessment and treatment, billing, documentation, and working alongside the treatment team.
- Pediatric and youth includes occupational therapy services for children from infancy through adolescence in outpatient, inpatient, and educational settings. These courses will involve assessment and treatment, adaptive equipment, assistive technologies, billing, documentation, and working alongside the treatment team.
The ideal incumbent must have exceptional writing, team collaboration, project management, and communication skills.
This position may be performed remotely, however, periodic compensated travel to university campus locations is required for media production and meetings as scheduled. Content Developers are expected to be fully available during normal business hours to actively participate in course development activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Under the direction of assigned academic leaders, author instructional content for courses delivered in a blended format.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts, including full-time faculty, to assist with research, design, innovative approaches, and instructional planning.
- Ensure that all instructional materials are aligned with program and learning outcomes and competencies.
- In collaboration with instructional design and media staff, produce original digital materials that meet quality standards, including digital lectures, video presentations, interactive online activities, lab plans, formative and summative assessments.
- Develop assignments that incorporate active learning approaches, technology, and methods that engage students in the learning process.
- Write exam questions in National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) format and style.
- Conduct scholarly research for instructional materials.
- Outline required readings from textbooks and research articles.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- An Occupational Therapy (MOT or OTD) degree from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience at the college/university level.
- At least 3 years of clinical experience.
- Expertise in one of the subject matter areas as listed above.
- Experience with online and/or blended learning.
- Exceptional writing and communication skills.
- Instructional design or curriculum development experience preferred but will train.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Advanced certifications in designated content area preferred.
- Highly responsive and organized to collaborate effectively and meet deadlines.
LICENSURE and/or CERTIFICATION
- Licensed Occupational Therapist
TRAVEL
May require periodic travel to USASH campus locations, up to 30%.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment but may involve exposure to moderate noise levels. Work involves operation of personal computer equipment for six to eight hours daily and includes physical demands associated with a traditional office setting, e.g., walking, standing, communicating, and other physical functions as necessary.
Compensation is a reasonable estimate and will be determined using the hiring range listed above and factors including, but not limited to, skillset, level of experience, education, and physical work location, to the extent consistent with applicable law.
